Keep up with your SEO Purple Web Marketing

We have the occasional client who wants to put off doing ongoing SEO work for a few months. They have their reasons: budget, other priorities, etc.

But a short break often becomes a long break.

We had a client get in touch just now who we last worked with in May 2017. Her sales had worse-than halved, her stats were incredibly down, and she wondered if perhaps it was time to look at her website’s SEO again?

Is it ever.

So much changes with Google’s algorithms (and of course the other major search engines too) every single month. Leaving SEO updates, data processing and general work for a long period of time means you get left behind.

In this clients case she had five major search queries (keywords) we were working on for her.

The ranks for those used to be:

  • 8
  • 4
  • 3
  • 3
  • 2

I just checked her current positions, and they’re awful:

  • 42
  • 35
  • She no longer ranks for this one at all
  • Or this one
  • 155!

Putting off regular SEO optimisation might seem like a good way to save a few bucks a month, but it seriously costs you in the long run.
